I’ve decided to stay in Ireland, and my partner and I are thinking of taking what is essentially an unfinished back house and turning it into a one bedroom home. We’d live in it to cut costs and expedite reaching various financial goals.

One of my favorite interiors of all time

It would be my first ever renovation, and it seems like the perfect project to get my feet wet before building a house - something I’d like to do in the near future.

This is a completely blank slate of a space, so even the simplest renovation will involve endless decisions. Big ones like where the walls should go, what kind of flooring, and what materials to use in the kitchen and bathroom. As well as smaller ones like hardware, power switches, and lighting.

If we decide to do this we’ll keep it simple, while hopefully creating a chic, inviting, functional space for two people and a small dog to live and work.

WHAT WE’RE WORKING WITH

This is the space - you’ll see my floor plan ideas at the end.
